PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's track and field team wrapped up the A-R-C Championships on Saturday. The Spartans finished with 121 points and 4th of the 9 conference teams. Cailey Peterson was named the Female Rookie of the Year after breaking records on the final day.
On the final day, the Spartans had two conference champions and three additional all-conference performers. Cailey Peterson set a facility record, meet record and recorded the 12th best mark in Division III in the Pole Vault, clearing 3.89 meters. In addition, Peterson finished third in the 100 meters, all leading to her being named the Female Rookie of the Year.
Jaide Flowers was the conference champion in the 400-meter, setting a personal best mark of 55.38 to win the final. Flowers also set a personal best in a runner-up finish in the 200 meters.
Dede Davis, Faith Hayes and Breen Duffy all earned all-conference honors with podium finishes in their respective events. Duffy was runner-up in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.76 meters, Hayes was third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.01 and Davis was third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:35.29
