ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The University of Dubuque track and field team wrapped up the Augustana Final Qualifier on Friday evening. Jaide Flowers won in the 400 meters, setting a new personal best.
On the women's side, Dede Davis and Jaide Flowers both had high finishes. Flowers took first in the 400 meters with her new personal best time of 55.08, which is the 12th-best time in Division III this season. Davis took two fourth-place finishes and se ta personal best mark in the steeplechase with a time of 10:45.12, 23rd in Division III this season.
On the men's side, Anthony Carney Jr. and Jaberrius Peake both had podium finishes. Carney set a personal best in the 1500 meters with a 3:57.60, finishing as runner-up in the event. Peake ran a 46.58 in the 400 meters to claim a third-place finish.
A handful of Spartans also traveled to La Crosse, Wis., to compete. At that meet, Chloe Reiser excelled with a shot put mark of 14 meters to shoot up the NCAA rankings to sixth in Division III.

Spartans who have qualified will begin preparing for the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday, May 21. The championships will be hosted in La Crosse, Wis., and the meet will be at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
