ASBURY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's golf team cruised past the five team field by 83 strokes at the Meadows Golf Club on Monday. The Spartans shot a two-day team score of +79 over par and
Leah Balsbaugh earned medalist honors, carding a +14 over par score.
The Spartans had the top seven finishers in the tournament and nine of the top 11 golfers. After Balsbaugh,
Gracie Russell finished runner-up at +17 over par, while
Olivia Hines and
Drew Hoffer were each +24 over par in a two-way tie for third place.
Payton Morton was +25 in fifth place,
Megan Stephan was sixth at +28 over par, and
Kaycee Newman was +30 in seventh.
Elizabeth Tucker was another top ten finisher for the Spartans in ninth at +36 over par.
Jenna Albanese finished her two days tied for 10th.
The Spartans will be back in action on Friday at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invite in Janesville, Wisconsin at the Riverside Golf Course.
