ASBURY, Iowa - On a windy and rainy Sunday, the University of Dubuque women's golf team dominated the field through round one of the Loras College Spring Invite with the top seven spots on the individual leaderboard belonging to the Spartans.
The Spartans lead second place Loras by 45 strokes through the first 18 holes on Sunday. The Spartans gained the most strokes on the par 5's on the course by a 19 stroke margin.
Gracie Russell leads the field at eight-over-par as six other Spartans round out the top seven.
Leah Balsbaugh sits +10 and in second, while
Olivia Hines,
Megan Stephan, and
Payton Morton each sit tied for third at +14.
Drew Hoffer is +16 and in sixth place, while
Kaycee Newman is one stroke back at +17 and in seventh place.
Elizabeth Tucker stands inside the top 10 in ninth place at +20.
Jenna Albanese golfed +27 to round out the field for the Spartans.
