DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque track and field team hosted the Spartans Shootout on Saturday inside the CRWC. Before events began today the Spartans celebrated 24 outstanding seniors for their contributions to the track and field team over each of their careers. 

On the women's side today for the track and field team, the Spartans had nine event champions. Cailey Peterson won the 60 meter dash in a personal best time of 7.93 seconds and then went on to win the pole vault with a personal best clearance of 3.70 meters for the second time this season. Chloe Reiser swept the throwing events today with a toss of 13.53 meters in the shot put and then a personal best 15.02 meters in the weight throw. 

Dede Davis won the mile race with a new best time of 5:06.14. Kahlan Kearns won the 400 meters in 1:02.05. Jaide Flowers had the fastest 200 meters time for UD this season with a time of 25.77 to win the event. The triple jump belonged to Faith Hayes (11.35m), a new personal best and Jaden Gatts won another high jump title with today's jump of 1.63 meters. 

The 4x400 meter relay team finished the meet off with a first place finish and a time of 4:04.47, the best time for a UD quartet group this season so far. 

On the men's side, the Spartans finished the meet with seven event champions. Lowen Krueger snagged the 60 meter hurdles title with a quick time of 8.64. Evan Robertson won the 800 meters (1:58.68), while Anthony Carney Jr. won the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:34.27, the best for a UD runner in the event this season. 

Landon Mickley tossed a UD season best 18.56 meters in the weight throw to win his first event of the season. Dakota Hoffman tossed 16.15 meters to win the shot put and gave the Spartans the sweep in the throwing events. Akim Baba Traore won the triple jump (13.91m) and Kaedon Phillips won the high jump title (1.95m).
