DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's track and field team hosted the Sol Butler Classic on Friday night. The Spartans would win seven event titles on the evening with four in field events and three on the track.
In the 60 meter hurdles final,
Nina Tomko ran 9.50 seconds en route to a first place finish in the event. Tomko was also the top runner in the 200 meter dash, crossing the line at 27.66.
Anna Bartels would finish third in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.80 seconds.
Kahlan Kearns finished second, but she would be the first non-unattached runner in the 400 meters with a personal best time of 1:00.09.
Dede Davis won the 800 meters by nearly two whole seconds, finishing in 2:21.96.
The Dubuque 'A' team consisting of
Mackenzie Rader,
Kahlan Kearns,
Dede Davis, and
Jaide Flowers took home the first place finish with a new season best time of 4:01.74 by this quartet.
There would be four titles in the field events as
Chloe Reiser won the shot put title on her second throw of 13.68 meters, more than a foot in front of second place.
Faith Hayes dominated the triple jump with her best leap of 11.28 meters, while
Jaden Gatts continues her dominance in the high jump, winning with a clearance of 1.69 meters.
Cailey Peterson won the pole vault yet again, this time by clearing 3.95 meters and beating the field by nearly half of a meter.
Breen Duffy secured a top three finish in the weight throw with a season best toss of 15.73 meters on her final throw.

The Spartans will now prepare for the American Rivers Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships that will take place next weekend from Friday, February 27 to Saturday, February 28.
