MAHNEIM, Penn. - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has released the latest NWCA Women's Coaches Poll, and the team race continues to tighten as No. 2 McKendree closes to within three points of top-ranked Iowa. There was only minor movement inside the top five. North Central holds steady in third with 97 points, while Grand Valley State remains fourth with 50. Presbyterian moved up to create a tie for fifth place with King, with both programs having 36 points. The University of Dubuque Spartans moved into a tie for the 25th spot, marking their first Top 25 ranking in the 2025-26 season for head coach Dennis Hall.
The individual rankings saw significant movement, highlighted by six new No. 1 wrestlers. Iowa and McKendree lead the way with four top-ranked athletes, while Lehigh and North Central each have a single wrestler at the top of their respective weight classes. UD's Shea Reisel moved up to #10 at 117 lbs. and Alex Hofrichter is in 9th place at 160 lbs. for the Spartans.
UD will be competing at the NCAA Region VII Championships hosted by Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa on Feb. 20-21. The NCAA National Collegiate Championships are being hosted in Coralville, Iowa on March 6-7 which includes NCAA student-athletes from Division I, Division II, and Division III.
