PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's and women's track & field teams competed in the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday at the indoor track facility. The women's track & field team set two new Platteville facility records on Saturday.
Women's Highlights
Freshman
Cailey Peterson finished fourth in the 60 meter dash final in a time of 7.87 seconds. Peterson's big highlight of the day came in the pole vault where she won the event by clearing 3.91 meters, setting a new facility record at Platteville.Â
The 200 meter dash title belonged to junior sprinter
Jaide Flowers with a time of 25.69 seconds. Flowers also finished runner-up in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.88 seconds, breaking the previous facility record at Platteville.
Mackenzie Rader and
Kahlan Kearns were also at the top of the 400 results with a third and fourth place finish, respectively.Â
Dede Davis ran 2:21.02 to secure a first place finish in the 800 meter run.Â
Nina Tomko won the 60 meter hurdles final in 9.58 while
Anna Bartels (3rd) and
Olga Filipovic (4th) were also top finishers in the final.Â
Jaden Gatts cleared 1.74 meters on her third try, breaking the previous facility record at Platteville by .04 meters to win the event.
Chloe Reiser was champion yet again in the shot put with a toss of 13.81 meters on her fifth throw. Reiser's second event of the day in the weight throw got her a runner-up finish after a final throw of 15.49 meters.
Breen Duffy had two top five finishes today with a third place finish in the weight throw and a fourth place finish in the shot put.Â
Men's Highlights
Matt Haerle picked up a top five finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.39 seconds.Â
In the distance events,
Evan Robertson was fourth in the 800 meters, while
Logan Karottu picked up a runner-up finish in the mile run, while
Carter Richter won the 5,000 meters in a time of 16:00.57.Â
In the 60 meters hurdles final, Cavin Brindle was second in a time of 8.42 seconds.Â
The 4x400 meter relay champion belonged to the Spartans as the quartet of
Matt Haerle,
Jaxon Sander,
Nathan Brzowski, and
Kaden Miller won with a time of 3:27.16.Â
In the field events,
Kaedon Phillips tied for second in the high jump,while
Dakota Hoffman was third in the shot put. The Spartans took five of the top seven sports in the weight throw as
Landon Mickley was third, followed by Hoffman in fourth,
Lucas Cummings in fifth,
Wyatt Kocurek in sixth, and
Zach Sanford in seventh.Â

The Spartans will be back in action for their final home meet of 2026 when they host the annual Sol Butler Classic inside the CRWC on Friday, February 20.Â
