CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) named University of Dubuque track & field student-athlete Dakota Hoffman as the men's track & field - field athlete of the week for his performance at the Cornell College Hilltop Invitational this past weekend. 

Hoffman (Worthington, Iowa / Western Dubuque) started 2026 off at the Hilltop Invitational with a first place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 15.87 meters. That throw beat out 47 other competitors in the event. The senior also competed in the weight throw where he had a personal best toss of 16.79 meters to finish fourth out of 43 competitors. Hoffman is earning his first A-R-C Athlete of the Week honor in his career. 

Hoffman and the Spartans are back in action this weekend competing in the two-day UW-Whitewater Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational starting on Friday, January 30.
