MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's track & field team was back competing on Saturday at the Cornell College Hilltop Invitational. The Spartans crowned six champions and had a total of 18 top five finishers in their respective events.
On the track,
Faith Hayes won the 200 meters in a time of 27.46 seconds and also added another event title in the triple jump with her longest mark of 10.87 meters. Hayes was also apart of the third place 1,600 meter relay team that finished under five minutes.
Jaide Flowers won the 400 meters in 58.69, while
Mackenzie Rader recorded a personal best 1:01.17 in the event.
Dede Davis was runner-up in the mile after a great run of 5:16.19 to earn a new personal best in the event. The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Rader,
Kahlan Kearns, Davis, and Flowers won the relay with a time of 4:07.25.
The Spartans had a total of four event winners in the field events today as
Jaden Gatts won the women's high jump with a height of 1.61 meters.
Cailey Peterson won the pole vault (3.45m), and
Chloe Reiser threw the sixth furthest throw in Division III this season in the shot out with a throw of 13.74 meters. Reiser was also second in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 14.89 meters.
Ashley Glennon also had a personal best in the weight throw, throwing 14.71 meters.

The Spartans will compete again next weekend when they take part in the UW-Whitewater Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational. The two-day meet will be from Friday, January 30 - Saturday, January 31 at the Williams Center.
