RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team scored the opening goal against Dominican University as
Alyssa Tranchita gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead through 74 minutes of play. Dominican answered late into the second half to force a 1-1 draw.
After a scoreless first half for both teams, Tranchita was able to score the first goal of the game just 1:17 into the second half to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead. Tranchita had half of the Spartans' shots on goal with three. Dominican scored the equalizer in the 75th minute to even the score that resulted in a 1-1 draw.
The Spartans finished the game with 12 total shots, including six shots on goal and had the corner kick advantage 5-1.
Karissa Cruz had four saves in 90 minutes in goal for the Spartans.
The Spartans are now 2-0-3 this season.
