DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team opened their 2025 season at home with a scoreless draw against the Grinnell College Pioneers on Friday night.

After an hour and a half lightning delay that stalled the season opening kickoff for the Spartans, the game would go a full 90 scoreless minutes. 

The Spartans finished the game with three shots on goal and 11 corner kicks, but the Spartans were just unable to capitalize offensively. Olivia Roth had two shots on goal, while Alyssa Tranchita had one. Karissa Cruz finished with a lone save in what was a quite night in goal.

The Spartans will have their first road game of the season on Tuesday, September 2 when they travel to Carroll University to take on the Pioneers. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
