CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced the final conferences athlete of the week on Monday afternoon. After a stellar performance at the A-R-C Outdoor Track & Field Championships that earned himself A-R-C Track Athlete of the Year,
Otis Patterson was award weekly honors by the conference.
Patterson (Chicago, Ill. / Harold L. Richards) started championship Saturday with a conference title in the 400 meters, running a personal best 47.30. He then finished runner-up in the 200 meters (21.36) before closing out the day in the 4x400 meter relay as the anchor of the winning University of Dubuque quartet that ran a total time of 3:11.49. Patterson was named A-R-C Male Track Athlete of the Year after his performances this past weekend on the track.
Patterson and the Spartans will be competing this week at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier on May 14-15 in their last chances to improve their times/marks before the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week in Geneva, Ohio.
