DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team dominated the Beloit College Buccaneers 18-4 on Wednesday night at Oyen Field to win their fourth straight NACC game.
The Spartans controlled every aspect of the game tonight against the Buccaneers, tripling the amount of shots (64-21) taken in the game. The Spartans had seven first quarter goals and led 11-1 after 30 minutes. On the Spartans second goal of the game,
Aidan Culligan scored his 200th career point on hist first of three goals tonight.
In the third quarter,
Kent Caballero scored his first career goal and
Sebastian Lopez-Morales notched his first assist of his career on the Spartans' 13th goal of the night.
Cale Baumgartner scored an unassisted goal in the fourth quarter for his first of his career.
Peter Schiess led the Spartans with six points, while Culligan and
Cambell Smith each had four points.
Eric Brostek had three points in the midfield. Coming off his athlete of the week honors,
Ethan Smith had a career-high five caused turnovers on the defensive end of the field.
The Spartans are now 8-6 overall and 7-2 in the NACC. The Spartans sit in a three-way tie for second place in the NACC standings as both MSOE and IIT hold the same conference record as the Spartans with two regular season games remaining.
