KENOSHA, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team opened their 2025 season on Saturday. The Spartans dropped their opening game18-8 to the Carthage College Firebirds.
Both teams traded back-to-back-to-back goals before Carthage capped off the first quarter with four goals to lead by one. Carthage would double their lead before the half to lead 7-5 through 30 minutes. Carthage would be too much in the opener for the Spartans as the opposition outscored the Spartans 11-3 in the second half to defeat the Spartans.
Aiden Ennett had a team-high three point (two goals, one assist), while first-year player
Andrew Beaudoin netted two goals. The Spartans were able to get points from
Aydan Rathsabandith,
Tyler Johnson,
Sam Todd, and
Giovanni Silva.
Nolan Nagy netted 15 saves in the loss.
The Spartans were successful on 11-12 clears and collected 27 ground balls.
The Spartans drop to 0-1 to start the year.
