DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team advanced to the A-R-C Tournament Championship game on Saturday after a dominating semifinal win over the No. 5 seed Central College Dutch by a final of 4-0.
The Spartans were dominate all night and the scoring started in the 21st minute off a
Claire Husnick corner kick, leading to a
Kaelyn Nash header to give the Spartans an early 1-0 lead. Nash would strike again in the opening minutes of the second half to extend the Spartans lead to 2-0.
Alyssa Tranchita continues to be the x-factor for the Spartans on a nightly basis and would score the Spartans' third and fourth goals of the night. The first came in the 55th minute off another assist from Husnick and then again on a penalty kick in the 76th minute.
The Spartans ended the night with 15 shots on goal and held the opposition to just two shots on goal, both coming on free kicks.
Samantha Jurgens had a quite night in goal, but was able to save the two free kick shots the Dutch were given.

The Spartans will play for the A-R-C Tournament Championship for just the fifth time in program history and first title game since 2014 (defeated Central College in PK's). The Spartans will face the No. 2 seed Loras College Duhawks on Saturday, November 8 at Oyen Field for the right to go to the NCAA Tournament. A start time for this game has yet to be determined and will be decided more than likely by tomorrow.
