#18 Volleyball Selected to Compete in UW-Oshkosh Regional, Will Face Cornell College in Opening Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team was informed today by the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Selection Committee that they will be traveling to the campus of UW-Oshkosh. The No. 2 seed Spartans will take on the No. 7 seed Cornell College Rams in the first round of the UW-Oshkosh regional on Thursday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m.

The Spartans (25-4, 8-0 A-R-C), being ranked 18th nationally and 20th in the NPI, received an at-large bid despite falling to Coe College in the A-R-C Championship on Saturday night. The Spartans' full body of work this season earned them one of 21 at-large bids in this year's tournament.

The national tournament consists of eight different eight-team regions. The champion of each regional will advance to the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Elite Eight in Bloomington, Ill. from December 3-6.

The UW-Oshkosh regional will include eight teams in a single-elimination bracket. The first round will be played on Thursday, while the second round will be played on Friday. The regional championship game will be played Saturday evening. The regional seeding and schedule are listed below.

Cornell College advanced to the national tournament by virtue of winning the MWC Tournament. The Rams (19-10, 8-0 MWC) went undefeated in conference play but went 1-8 against teams receiving votes nationally. Against A-R-C opponents, the Rams dropped their match against Coe but defeated Loras and Buena Vista. In their head-to-head match this season, the Spartans defeated the Rams in four sets in Mount Vernon.

A total of 64 teams earned bids to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship and learned where they will start their national postseason journey during Monday's selection show. Eight regional sites will have eight teams competing in a single-elimination format. The eight winners of the regional tournaments will qualify for national quarterfinal round on Wednesday, December 3 at the Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, where the remainder of the tournament will be played. The four quarterfinal winners will face on Thursday, December 4, and after a day of rest, the final two teams in the tournament are set to play for the 44th national title in Division III history on Saturday, December 6.

Forty-three conference champions qualified automatically while 21 at-large bids were awarded. At-large bids comprises independent institutions and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification or institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not their conference champions.
