DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team scored seven goals on Saturday afternoon en route to a dominating 7-0 victory over the Coe College Kohawks on Senior Day.
After a thrilling victory over No. 15 Loras College on Wednesday night, the Spartans kept the momentum going, scoring seven goals in a dominating shutout victory over the Kohawks.Â
It took 30 minutes, but the Spartans were finally in the scoring column as
Alyssa Tranchita scored her 10th goal of the season off the first of two assists from
Brooke Clark. Clark would get her second assist of the game nearly four minutes later as
Virginia Speltz scored her sixth goal of the season to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead at the half.
The most dominating half for the Spartans this season occured in the second half today, producing five goals from
Riley Trudeau,
Ava Hortillosa,
Amanda Pisciotta,
Kaelyn Kanable and Tranchita scoring her second goal of the game. Trudeau also produced two assists in the second half, while
Claire Husnick and
Kyla Seifert recorded assists.Â
The Spartans outshot the Kohawks 21-2 in shots on goal to go along with 15 corner kick opportunities for the Spartans compared to one chance for the Kohawks.
Samantha Jurgens recorded her second straight win in goal for the Spartans and finished the day with two saves.
The Spartans are now 9-1-6 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play.

All eyes will be on Storm Lake next Tuesday night (October 28) as the Spartans will be playing the Buena Vista University Beavers in the final regular season game of the year. With a win the Spartans will clinch just their second A-R-C regular season title in school history with their last title coming in 2014.Â
