DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team swept Buena Vista University (6-12, 0-4 A-R-C) 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-22) on Friday evening. The #24 Spartans (19-3, 4-0 A-R-C) continue their undefeated run in conference play, improving to 4-0 in the A-R-C.
The Spartans kicked off the evening by jumping to an early 11-6 lead in the first set. A pair of kills by
Megan Cooley and a block from
Ashley Glennon helped power the Spartans to a 25-19 set victory. The Spartans took an early lead in the second set, but the Beavers fought back and tied the set at nine apiece. UD went on a short run to give the Spartans a lead they wouldn't relinquish, holding the Beavers at bay for a 25-17 set victory. In the third set, both squads traded leads, but it was a six-point run that gave the Spartans a decisive 20-14 lead in the third set. The Spartans staved off a Beavers comeback bid to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
Delainey Winkel led the team with 11 kills in the match. Glennon and
Halee Clare added seven each as the Spartans hit .293 on Friday evening.
Alexis Kammerer and
Ashlyn McGinnis aided the offensive explosion with 19 and 15 assists, respectively. Defensively, Clare and
Caitlin Jensen each tallied five blocking assists, while
Taylor Bechen led the Spartans with 18 digs.

The #24 Spartans return to action Saturday morning with an 11:00 a.m. match against Nebraska Wesleyan University. The Prairiewolves (13-6, 2-2 A-R-C) defeated Loras College 3-1 on Friday evening and have conference losses to Central College and Simpson College, in addition to a victory over the Beavers.
