DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team finished the Duhawk Classic 3-1 on the weekend with wins over St. Norbert College, Illinois College, and UW-River Falls with the lone loss to St. Olaf.
On day one, five Spartans have reached double figures in kills, led by
Delainey Winkel with 25 including 18 against St, Norbert.
Taylor Bechen led the back line as the libero with 42 digs and a team-high 48 assists from
Alexis Kammerer. The duo of
Caitlin Jensen and
Payton Uptagraft each ended the day with seven blocks each.
Day two was a winning day for the Spartans as Winkel continued her hot stretch with 11 kills against Illinois College and 14 against UW-River Falls to finish the weekend with 50 kills through four games. Just like day one Uptagraft and Jensen were the lead blockers for the Spartans as they combined for five solo blocks and six assisted blocks.
Record note: During the Illinois College match,
Emma Powell secured her 1,500th dig of her career and sits at 1,541 defensive digs and moved into seventh place in the UD school record book.

That winning streak will look to continue next weekend at the Aurora University Triangular that will featured the host Aurora University and Illinois Wesleyan University.
