DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women's soccer took the field at home for the first time this season as they took on the Cougars from Concordia Chicago. The Spartans dominated the offensive possession the entire game as they beat the Cougars 2-0 on Wednesday night to move to 3-0-1 on the season.
The Spartans got on the gas pedal early in the first half dominating the Cougars on both sides of the ball. In the first half the Spartans as a team got off 15 shots with five of them being on goal. The defense locked down Concordia not allowing a single shot in the first half. The scoring began in the 14
th minute of the game as
Samantha Scodeller connected on a shot that found the upper left part of the goal to make the score 1-0 off a pass from
Alyssa Tranchita. It was Scodeller's first goal of the season. in the second half, the defense continued to stay strong not allowing a single shot attempt. Scoring in 60
th minute of the second half for the Spartans was
Riley Trudeau, as she nailed a header off a corner kick from
Emma Kober, this was Trudeau's third goal of the season. As a team, the Spartans got off 26 shots with 11 shots on goal, earned, along with 12 corner kicks. The defense for the Spartans blanked Concordia on the shot chart not allowing a single shot attempt.
