Blake Named NCBWA Division III National Pitcher of the Week

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced the Division III National Players of the Week as University of Dubuque baseball standout Johnny Blake was named National Pitcher of the Week after a 17-strikeout outing against the Simpson College Storm on Friday, April 5. 

A few weeks ago, Blake was named NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week - Honorable Mention after he recorded just the third no-hitter in University of Dubuque baseball history. This time, the Dubuque, Iowa native in his hometown delivered a 17-strikeout performance against Simpson. Blake has now had four starts where he reached double-digit strikeouts.

Blake is now a two-time NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week in only seven career starts for the Spartans.

Blake and the Spartans are back in action this weekend at Central College in a three-game series.
