DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team got back into the win column on Wednesday night as the Spartans took down the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders 14-8 behind junior
Sam Todd's five goals.
Todd finished the game with five goals and an assist to lead the Spartans with six points. The five goals by Todd were the most he has scored in a single game this season.
Aidan Culligan finished with five points on three goals and two assists.
Giovanni Silva added a pair of goals and assists while
Tyler Johnson scored a season-high two goals and a season-high three points. Freshman
Chris Wilson scored his first collegiate goal as a Spartan tonight in the first quarter.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Ryan Doyle finished with a season-high six caused turnovers and 11 ground balls as Doyle made it difficult for MSOE attackers.
Quentin Evans caused four turnovers.
John Lewis went 15-24 on faceoffs.
Game Notables
- The Spartans got out to a big 6-0 lead in the first quarter
- MSOE responded with two goals in the second to cut the Spartans lead to 6-2
- Trailing by six goals in the third quarter, MSOE rallied off five goals in three and a half minutes to cut the lead to one goal.
- The Spartans responded with the next five goals in the fourth quarter
- The Spartans were 3-5 on extra man opportunities
The Spartans are now 3-3 overall on the season.
