Silva Becomes All-Time Points Leader as Men's Lacrosse Falls to Carthage

DUBUQUE, Iowa - On the third goal of the afternoon for the Spartans, Giovanni Silva's assist made him the current all-time points leader in University of Dubuque Men's Lacrosse program history. The Spartans fell behind early in the game as the Spartans fell to Carthage College by a final score of 8-14.

Carthage scored the first goal of the game before Aidan Culligan got the scoring started for the Spartans off a Sam Todd assist. Carthage then went on a scoring streak where they scored five goals in two minutes of game time to broaden their lead to 1-6 after the first quarter. The Spartans got a goal from Silva in the opening minutes of the second quarter and then assisted Culligan shortly after to break the all-time points record and bring the Spartans back to within a four goal deficit. Silva finished the final four minutes of the first half with an additional two goals as the Spartans went to the break trailing by three goals (5-8).

Both teams traded goals in the opening 1:10 of the second half as Todd scored the man-up goal for the Spartans.
