STORM LAKE, Iowa - Two words can describe the University of Dubuque men's basketball game against the Buena Vista University Beavers: Red Hot. The Spartans made 55.6% of their three-pointers as the Spartans reached over 90 points for the first time since February 2022.
All five starters for the Spartans scored in double figures with
Dylan Anderson leading the way with his career-high 25 points knocking down 6-11 from beyond the arc. Anderson's six three-pointers made is also a career-high.
Sam Kilburg scored 15, the trio of
Jaylin McCants,
Brock Simon, and
Sunday John added 13 points each. John's 13 points are the most he has scored in a Spartans uniform this season. Off the bench,
Grady Thompson added 10 points.
The Spartans shot over 60% in the first half from the field and shot 66.67% from beyond the arc in the second half missing only five attempts (10-15). The Spartans outscored the Beavers in the paint 44-28 even with the barrage of three-pointers the Spartans made.
Hear from Robbie Sieverding
"Out guys played really well offensively to start the game and executed pretty well against both man and zone. It was great to see six guys in double figures tonight. Dylan got going and shot the ball extremely well and happy for him because he has worked hard to make an impact on our program."
If the Spartans can get the production like they got today from six different scorers, the Spartans are going to be extremely tough to beat.
The Spartans have now won three in a row and move to 17-4 overall, 8-4 in conference play.
