Hear from Robbie Sieverding
"Tonight we got off to another really good start and our press was really effective. Our guys were active and those 30 turnovers gave us a chance to score some transition baskets. Jaylin and Brock both scored it well and I thought our bench also played solid. Big test with a very good Central team coming to Stoltz on Saturday."
Jaylin McCants was very efficient from the floor going 10-14 (71.43%) for a game-high 23 points. McCants also led the Spartans in rebounds with four. Simon scored 17 and Anderson added 10 points making his first two three-pointers of the game. Leading the team this season in assists,
Sam Kilburg added six assists tonight for the Spartans.
Coming off their best shooting performance of the season against Buena Vista last Saturday, the Spartans continued their hot shooting from the field (51.7%). The Spartans did struggle at the free throw line making 7-13 (53.8%). The Spartans were active on the defensive end as they forced 30 turnovers and turned them into 35 points. Wartburg was inly able to score eight points off 14 Spartan turnovers.
