LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team kept in rolling on Friday night, defeating the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves in a clean sweep (25-22, 25-13, 25-17). The Spartans have now won four straight matches and 10 of their last 11.Â
The Spartans hit .242 on the night with 41 kills on 120 attack attempts, while the opposition had a tough night as the Spartans forced 23 attacking errors by the Prairie Wolves.
Emma Powell finished with 13 kills and 12 digs, while
Delainey Winkel added 11 kills of her own.
Taylor Bechen had a team-high 18 digs and
Alexis Kammerer also led in assists with 23.
Payton Uptagraft had three assisted blocks and a solo on the night.Â
The matchup with the Prairie Wolves had a lot riding on the conference standings as we wind down on the regular season. With the win, the Spartans stay on pace with the Kohawks from Coe College with one conference loss each. However, if both teams win their final two games, the Kohawks have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Spartans.Â
At a minimum, if the Spartans beat their final two conference opponents they will have a first round bye in the conference tournament.Â
