CARROLL, Wis. - The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team swept the field at the Carroll University Triangular on Friday night. In the first game of the night, the Spartans defeated Augustana College (IL) in four sets which was followed up by a four set victory over the host, Carroll University.
The Spartans extend their winning streak to four and have won nine of the last 11 games. UD is currently 14-7 overall.

Augustana Match
First Set
- Augustana opened with a 4-1 lead
- The Spartans then scored 17 of the next 25 points to lead 18-12
- Augustana went on a 8-2 run to tie the set at 20-20
- The Spartans scored the final five points to win the set 25-20
Second Set
- The Spartans led on three different occasions in the set
- Augustana got as close at 9-7, but the Spartans scored nine of the next 12 points to get their biggest lead in the set 18-10
- Leading by six, the Spartans scored the final four points to take set two 25-15
Third Set
- Augustana led the entire set with their biggest lead being the final score of the set, 25-16
Fourth Set
- The Spartans led by as many as six points late in the set
- Eight of the next 10 points would favor Augustana to tie the set at 19-19
- The Spartans responded with six of the final nine points to win the match
Carroll University Match
First Set
- After a 7-7 tie, the Spartans used multiple runs to extend their lead as big as 18-9
- Carroll got to within four twice, but the Spartans finished the set 25-19
Second Set
- Carroll held the early lead 6-2
- Back and forth battle led to the Spartans being up 23-20
- Four of the next five points for Carroll tied the match at 24-24
- The Spartans ended the set with the final two points
Third Set
- Carroll led the entire way to force a fourth set after pulling away late 25-17
Fourth Set
- The Spartans opened the set up 6-0
- Carroll used a 6-1 run to get to within a point
- The Spartans pulled away throughout the set (25-16) to win the match in four sets

The Spartans will return to A-R-C action next weekend when they host Central College on Friday, October 11 at 6:00 p.m. and Simpson College on Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. inside the Stoltz Sports Center.
