CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team won the opening set against the Coe College Kohawks on the road, but the Kohawks took the final three sets to take the match 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 10-25, 14-25), snapping the Spartans six game winning streak. 

The opening set was a battle between both teams and the difference in the set was the Spartans trailed 20-19 late in the set, but a five point run by the Spartans gave them the 24-19 advantage. The Kohawks made one last run, scoring the next three points, but the Spartans finished off the set with a kill. 

The remaining sets belonged to the Kohawks as the Spartans were unable to get anything going offensively, not reaching double-digit kills in the final three sets. 

Emma Powell accounted for nearly a third of the Spartans kills with 10 and finished with 16 digs. Reigning conference defensive player of the week, Taylor Bechen, finished with 21 digs along the back line while also adding four service aces. Alexis Kammerer had 19 of the teams 34 assists in the loss.

This is the first time since 10/26/22 that the Spartans lost a conference regular season game, which happened to be against the Kohawks in Cedar Rapids.

The Spartans move to 16-8 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
