DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team extended their regular season conference winning streak to 11 on Saturday morning after sweeping the Simpson College Storm (25-17, 25-18, 25-13).
The Spartans held the Storm to a negative hitting percentage as the Spartans control the game from the start to finish. With never feeling threatened, the Spartans had 16 more kills than the Storm and seven more blocks.
Powell led the Spartans yet again with 15 kills with
Delainey Winkel the only other Spartan in double figures with 11.
Taylor Bechen and Powell led the Spartans in digs as Bechen finished with 24. The duo of
Payton Uptagraft and
Caitlin Jensen led the team in blocks as Uptagraft had a pair of solo and assisted blocks while Jensen had two solos and an assisted block.
The story of the day was from the two setters as
Ashlyn McGinnis surpassed 1,000 career assists last night against Central and today
Alexis Kammerer also surpassed 1,000 career assists with a team-high 17 today.

The Spartans extend their season winning streak to six games and 11 of the last 13 resulted in victories. With a 16-7 overall record and 3-0 in conference play, the Spartans will face the Coe College Kohawks on the road next Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m. from Cedar Rapids.
