Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque baseball team celebrated the final home doubleheader on Sunday for Senior Day against the Washington University Bears. UD swept game one in seven innings 12-1, but the Bears got the revenge in game two holding the the Spartans hitless through six and 2/3 innings before UD earned one hit in a 0-20 loss.

In the opener, the Spartans bats were alive in the blustery, cold, windy wet conditions. UD compiled 12 runs off 13 hits and played errorless. The Spartans Hunter Hicks would send the ball deep over left field wall for three RBI's. Not to be outdone, in the second inning Aidan Elfering made the most of his opportunity with bases loaded. He sent the ball over left field for four RBI's to put the Spartans ahead early in the contest. Kyle Radi finished 3-4, scored three times and gad two RBI's. Colin Husko at leadoff was 2-4 with two runs scored, Jake Cekander was 2-4 with an RBI and scored twice. Allen Parker was 2-3, scored once and had an RBI. The Spartans left six runners on base.

Edward Rosas grabbed the victory after six complete innings, faced 28 batters and allowed one earned run with three strikeouts. Patrick Rafferty tossed the final seventh inning to end the nine inning scheduled game early in favor of the Spartans 12-1.

In game two, it was all Bears. UD struggled offensively being held hitless for six and 2/3 innings. The no-hitter was broken up by pitch hitter Matt Wolverton when he singled to right center with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. UD committed seven costly errors in the loss as the Bears scored 20 runs off 15 hits.

The Spartans return to action on Tuesday when they host North Park University on May 2 at 3:00 p.m. for a one-nine inning contest.
