Women's Hockey Held Scoreless Against Trine

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's hockey concluded the month of December with a 0-5 neutral site loss to Trine University. 

In conference action earlier this season, the Spartans were able to defeat Trine on the road twice including an overtime win. In the third matchup that counted as a non-conference game, the Spartans were held scoreless as Trine scored twice in the first period and three times in the third period. 

Five Spartans recorded two shots throughout the game as the team had 14 shots on goal. Olivia Hodges was a team-best 14-20 on faceoffs with Gracie Hall going 6-12. Sarah Parker had three blocked shots this afternoon. The Spartans were 0/1 on their lone power play opportunity. 

Savannah Wuitschick played all 60 minutes in goal for the Spartans recording double-digit saves in the first two periods (16 & 17) and then eight in the final period for 41 total saves. Wuitschick has recorded 40+ saves in 10 of the 12 games this season. 

The Spartans move to 2-10 overall on the season.
