BELOIT, Wis. - The final non-conference game of the season for the University of Dubuque women's soccer team took place on Wednesday night taking on Beloit College where the Spartans shutout the Buccaneers 2-0.
Throughout the first half, Beloit was able to get off six shots in the first half and only five for the Spartans. The Spartans were able to capitalize on their shots as
Emma Kober scored the first goal of the game and her 12th goal of the season to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead in the 34th minute. Seven minutes later in the 41st minute
Virginia Speltz would find
Riley Trudeau for the Spartans second goal of the night. In the sequence, Trudeau notched her second goal of the season and Speltz assisted her second goal this season.
The second half would be all defense between both teams as neither side could find the back of the net in the final 45 minutes. Both teams accounted for only five shot attempts in the second half.
Karissa Cruz recorded her fourth career shutout where she added six saves in eight shots faced.
The Spartans move to 8-3-1 overall and remain 2-1-1 in conference play.
