Women's Volleyball Lose Final Regular Season Game to North Park

CHICAGO, Ill - The University of Dubuque Women's Volleyball team concluded their regular season with a non-conference matchup against the Vikings of North Park University. The Spartans fell at the hands of the Vikings Saturday afternoon in four sets (15-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-25). The Spartans finished the regular season with a record of 10-17 and 4-4 in A-R-C play. 

Entering the first set, the Vikings claimed the early lead and went on to capture the set 25-15. The Spartans revamped and hit a team high (.333%) collecting the second set victory 25-23. The University of Dubuque's hitting percentage began to decline in the last two sets resulting in losses. North Park proved to be to much for the Spartans as the Vikings recorded 23 service aces compared to six by the Spartans. 

The Spartans were led by Darby Hawtrey with 11 kills, followed by Ashlee Adler with nine, and Alexis Bedier tallying six. Senior, Kaylynn Murray (15) and freshman Maegan Brylski (11) combined for a total of 26 assists. Katie Wright lead the team with 21 digs and Adler finished the day with 12.

Up Next
Tuesday, November 1, begins the opening round of the American Rivers Conference Tournament. With a 4-4 record in conference play, the Spartans earned the fourth seed and will host the fifth seed Nebraska Wesleyan Prairiewolves Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. In the regular season, the Spartans won 3-1 on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan. The winner of this match will face the A-R-C regular season champions, the #1 seeded Coe College Kohawks on Friday night.
