DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team began their postseason quest in the American Rivers Conference Tournament as the #4 seed. The Spartans would get a match-up with the #5 seed Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) Prairiewolves inside Stoltz Sports Center where the Spartans would attack the best they have all season and complete the clean sweep of the Prairiewolves 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-17).

In the opening set, the Spartans and NWU would battle back-and-forth early before the Spartans trailed 9-11. Emma Powell would then record a kill capping off a 5-0 run to lead 16-12. The Spartans had their biggest lead in the set at 24-18 before Alexis Bedier ended the set with a kill to give the Spartans the set win. The Spartans would hit .419% in the set which is one of the best hitting percentages in a set all season.

The second set would be knotted early at 7-7 before the Spartans used a 4-0 run to lead 11-7 forcing NWU to call a timeout. Out of the timeout the Spartans would continue attacking as they would build their lead to 20-13 forcing yet another NWU timeout trailing by seven. The Spartans would lead by as much as 22-13 before settling for the 25-16 set victory. The Spartans would hit even better than the first set with an attacking percentage of .472% which is a season high.

The Spartans would begin the third set trailing 5-8. Much like the first two sets, the Spartans would use another run of 7-0 to gain a 12-8 advantage. The Spartans would surge ahead by seven at 19-12 and ultimately Ashlee Adler finished off the Prairiewolves with a kill and sent the Spartans to the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
