Women's Soccer Take Victory Over Prairiewolves 3-1

LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team won on the road over the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairiewolves on Saturday by a 3-1 margin.

The Spartans scored first after a penalty kick at 2:51 of the game when Emma Kober scored the PK. Abby Weigand put the Spartans up 2-0 after she scored off assist from Kober at 15:41. The host Prairiewolves sliced into the lead at 30:50 when they scored, but UD responded five minutes later when Riley Trudeau scored unassisted at 35:46.

UD ended the day with 19 shots (12 in first half) with nine being on goal. NWU racked up 12 shots with seven on goal. Elisa Langer played the full 90 minutes in goal and had six saves for the Spartans. Seventeen Spartans saw action in the road win and Weigand led with five shots as Trudeau ended with four shots. UD committed five fouls and NWU ended with seven in the loss.

The Spartans travel to face the UW-La Crosse Eagles on Wednesday, Oct. 19 with a 7:00 p.m. start. UD will continue the road schedule when they will journey to Indianola on Saturday, Oct. 22 to play the Simpson College Storm at 1:00 p.m. on homecoming week.
