DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque Women's Soccer team had Tuesday, October 11 marked on their calendar since the beginning of the season as they were set to face-off against their rival and nationally ranked Loras College Duhawks. For most of the game, rain and wind played havoc for the Spartans, but the Duhawks set the pace and scored three goals in the first half and left Oyen Field with a 4-0 victory.
Coming off a weekend matchup where the Spartans drew with nationally ranked #6- Wartburg College, the Spartans had yet another big opportunity and a tough league opponent. UD fought to maintain possession of the ball as goalkeeper
Karissa Chalus faced a total of 26 shots (12 on goal) and recorded eight saves after 90 minutes in goal. Defensive play by the Duhawks limited the Spartans to a trio of corner kicks while Loras compiled 10 opportunities.
