GRINNEL/PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque opened the Central and Grinnell Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of UW-Superior on Friday night. Darby Hawtrey and Emma Powell led the offense for the Spartans with 15 kills and 11 kills respectively. Ashlee Adler finished with two block solos. Katie Wright dove for 10 digs trailed closely by Powell with nine and Hawtrey with seven. Kate Messino found the attacker for 17 assists and Kaylynn Murray finished with 12. Julie May led with a pair of service aces in the victory.

Saturday the Spartans continue the invitational and will play Elmhurst College at 11 a.m. and UW-Stout at 1 p.m. in Pella
