PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team allowed a goal at the 24th minute mark of the opening half and would fail to overcome the goal in a narrow 0-1 loss to the UW-Platteville Pioneers on Wednesday evening.

UD trailed the hosts in shots 9-19, Emerson Wilson led with three shots and two on goal. Jordan Cadena had two shots with two on goal. The Spartans keeper Cadence Martindale was kept busy with eight saves.

UD returns home on Saturday to host the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairiewolves at 1 p.m. on Oyen Field.
