DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer failed to find any offense on Wednesday night on Oyen Field and lost to the Knox College Prairiefire by a 0-3 final score.
The Spartans fell behind 0-2 in the first 30 minutes of action and struggled to find a spark. The troubles only got worse in the second half when the Spartans flicked a ball into their own goal on a corner kick by the Prairiefire to trail 0-3. The Spartans finished the loss with 14 shots and were led by
Brooke Brodzinski who had four shots.
Cadence Martindale made six saves in 87:14 in goal. UD was outshot in the match 6-14.
Twenty Spartans saw action and will be looking forward to American Rivers Conference play on Saturday as they travel to face #13-ranked Wartburg College. The Spartans (4-3 overall) will be looking for the victory against the Knights (6-1-1 overall). Wartburg lost to UW-La Crosse on Tuesday night 0-1 at home. UD has eight goals this season and an average goals per game average of 1.14 and an average shots per game of 12.3. Defensively UD has 33 saves and held their opponents to 11.3 shots per game.
