PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team added another win on Monday night in a postponed match-up against the Central College Dutch by a 104-82 margin.
UD was led by starting duo of
Patrick Mayfield and
Peter Ragen who would end the night with 28 points and 24 points. The Spartans bench would out score Central by 36-13 and
Hunter Snyder was nearly perfect sinking 7-7 shots from the field, 5-5 from the three point arc, and his only miss on the night was a free throw to finish with 19 points and five rebounds.
Keegan Zimmerman would add a dozen off the bench in just 13 minutes of action.
Avery Butler collected four defensive blocks and
Sam Kilburg garnered six assists and and a steal.
Weather outside may have been setting records for low temperatures in Iowa, but it was the Spartans who were sizzling on the court after shooting nearly 62% from the field (37-60) and 63.6% from beyond the three point arc (14-22).
UD led at halftime 54-38 and would extend the lead to as much as 23 points midway through the second half. The victory was the Spartans ninth of the season and fifth in the American Rivers Conference action.Â
The Spartans will play at Buena Vista University on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. Two contests remain postponed: a home game vs. Luther College and a road game at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Those games have yet to be re-scheduled at this time.
