MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team won Sunday's consolation game of the Rhodes Tournament with a 70-65 score over Westminster (Mo.) The Spartans shot over 53% from the field and made 21-27 free throw attempts.
UD was led in scoring by
Peter Ragen who finished with a game high 29 points in 9-17 from the field, and nearly perfect at the free throw line by sinking 9-10 attempts.
Brock Simon was only other double digit scorer with 10 points. Josh McCants had nine points and
Josh Hammer led the Spartans rebounding with nine including eight defensive grabs.
The Spartans scored 38 points in the paint and scored 24 points off turnovers. UD struggled from the outside and made just 3-13 three point attempts.
UD returns home and will travel to Storm Lake on Wednesday, Dec. 1 in American Rivers Conference action against the Buena Vista University Beavers.
