MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The #16 University of Dubuque men's basketball team is participating in the Rhodes University tourney this weekend. The first of them being against the #18 Washington University Bears this afternoon. Washu were hot from the outside and the Spartans would struggle in the second half shooting and fell to the Bears 59-77.
The first half, the Spartans would be within reach of the bears shooting 44.4% from the field. However, they would trail by four at halftime. In the second half, the Spartans could not find the bottom of the net shooting from distance as they would shoot only 14.3% from 3-point range. The Spartans also struggled turning the ball over as the Bears were able to get 22 points off the Spartans turnovers.
The Spartans were led this afternoon by
Peter Ragen with 16 points and
Jaylin McCants would be close behind with 15. Spartans finished the game shooting 41.1% from the field and 70% from the free throw line.
Before the Spartans return to campus, they will continue the Rhodes tourney in the consolation tomorrow, November 28 at 1:00 p.m. CT against Westminster.
