DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Spartans were looking to come out on senior day and bounce back from a tough road loss earlier in the week to Loras College. The Spartans would take the field and from the very beginning,control the ball and not allow Coe to get any offense of note. They would strike twice in each half with a pair of goals to come out on top with a 4-0 victory.
The Spartans would start the game very fast and would get a goal from
Emma Kober in only 16 seconds of play to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. The Spartans would continue to put the pedal to the medal and find the goal again in the 2
nd minute from
Samantha Scodeller on a penalty kick to take a 2-0 lead. The Spartans would take the 2-0 lead into halftime. The second half was much of the same as the Spartans were not giving the Kohawks anything easy and were in their attacking third for most of the time.
Emma Kober would tack on another goal in the 55
th minute thanks to an assist from senior
Molly Schiltz to increase the Spartan lead to 3-0. The Spartans would add another goal shortly after from
Baylee Vincent to give them a 4-0 cushion and would maintain the score to record the 4-0 victory.
The Spartans were very accurate with their shots tonight as 11 of the 15 shots were on goal. They would also kick eight corner kicks as well. The Spartans play again at Oyen Field on Tuesday, October 12 against the Simpson College Storm at 5:00 p.m.
