DECORAH, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball capped off their American Rivers Conference regular season with their third win in a row on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 victory over the Luther College Norse. The Spartans 11-16 overall and 4-4 in conference, locked in a tournament berth. Two league games remain and scheduled for Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Nebraska Wesleyan University plays at Central and Simpson College at Buena Vista University
Abby Smith led the Spartans offense with 16 kills.
Julie May finished with 15 kills and this week's A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week,
Emma Powell with 10 kills.
Kate Messino led with 25 set assists.
Julie May collected three blocks. The Spartans finished with 48 kills and a strong hitting percentage of .374. Luther struggled and finished with a hitting percentage of .091.
The one and two seeded teams are set, the final seeding will be finalized after Wednesday games. The tournament will begin Tuesday, November 2nd with the 4/5 seeds and 3/6 seeds meeting at the higher seed. On Friday, November 5th, the winners of the 4/5 and 3/6 opening round matches will travel to Wartburg College, the No. 1 seed of the tournament for the semifinals. Wartburg will play the winner of the 4/5 first round match-up, and the No. 2 seed will play the winner of the 3/6 match-up. The championship match will be held at Wartburg College on Saturday, November 6th. The winner of the 2021 Conference Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
