WHITEWATER, Wis. - The University of Dubuque volleyball team has a tough week with two road matches and one home match during homecoming week. Wednesday night the Spartans fell to #9-ranked UW-Whitewater (19-1 overall) in a four set battle. Two out of the four sets would be pushed into extras.

UD lost the opening set 24-26, a set that featured 12 ties and five lead changes. UD led 23-22 before the hosts rallied to capture the set. UD lost set two 16-25, captured the third set 27-25, and lost the match after a 22-25 fourth set. The two teams would both struggle with their hitting. The Spartans ended the night hitting .146 while the host Warhawks ended the night at .185 and ending eith 20 attack errors.

Emma Powell led hitting with 17 kills and 15 digs. Ashlee Adler collected 15 kills and 14 digs. Kate Messino tallied 39 set assists and 11 digs. Emily Swanson compiled three of the team's 8 block assists.
