DES MOINES, Iowa - The third American Rivers Conference multi-school event of the 2020-21 academic year took place today in three locations in the Des Moines metro area. Seventy-plus women's tennis players took part in the A-R-C Women's Tennis Individual Tournament. Medals were awarded in three flights -- A, B, and C Singles, and A and B Doubles. 

Freshman Alyssa Stevenson would battle her way into the semifinals of "C" Flight singles after winning the quarterfinal match over Central College's Laramie O' Sullivan by a 8-3 margin. She lost 8-4 in the semifinals against Clair Moore (Loras). In the match for third place she would fall 8-2 to Hope Gray of Luther to place fourth.

• Draws > All athletes are guaranteed two matches (at least one match in the "front side" and ONE on the backside (i.e., not playing a full consolation bracket)
• Singles OR doubles > all athletes are required to play one or the other and not both

• A-Singles > All matches shall be best two-of-three sets with a 10-point match tiebreaker in lieu of a third set, regular scoring, with tiebreakers played at 6-6 in the first two sets.
• B- and C-Singles > 8-game pro sets on both sides of the bracket with tie-breakers at 7-all
• A- and B-Doubles > 8-game pro sets on both sides of the bracket with tie-breakers at 7-all

• Admission to the tournament is free.
• Spectators are permitted with the expectation that face coverings will be utilized when social distancing is not possible.
  • Per the Center for Disease Control, to practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms' length) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
