Women's Tennis Swing Past the Central Dutch 5-2 in Final Match of Fall

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's tennis team captured their final meet of the 2026 fall season on Sunday afternoon on the Frank Farber Tennis Courts. UD lost the doubles point, but would rally to win 5-6 singles matches to claim the American Rivers Conference dual meet 5-2. The Spartans finish their fall with a 9-2 overall record and a 5-2 A-R-C record.

In doubles play, UD's #1 doubles of Molly Jex/Sarah Wilde defeated Emma Murphy/Lauren Gano by a 6-0 margin. Central captured the #3 doubles 6-1 and edged out a tie break win at #2 doubles 7-6 (7-2). The Spartans would lose just the #5 singles match in a three set thriller 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-1. 

The 2026 American Rivers Conference Women's Tennis Individual Flighted Singles and Doubles Tournament will take place Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 in Waverly, Iowa and Waterloo, Iowa with play beginning at 10:00 a.m. both days. Wartburg College is the host school for the women's tournament.

Participation and Entries
  • Brackets --> All student-athletes are guaranteed one match, with the option of participating in a consolation event on Day 2. 
    • Players are only permitted to play in the consolation event if they have been eliminated in both singles and doubles on Day 1. 
  • Day 1 --> Play shall begin with doubles matches, to be played through quarterfinals, followed by singles matches.
  • Day 2 --> Play shall begin with doubles matches, to be played through the championship, followed by singles matches. 
Format of Matches
  • Singles --> Short sets to four, 10-point match tiebreak at one set all
  • Doubles --> Six game set, 7-point match tiebreak at 6 all
