University of Dubuque

Whitney Nichols joined the University of Dubuque Women’s Volleyball Team in 2019 as a Graduate Assistant. Nichols is a homegrown Central Illinois girl where she has experienced multiple success throughout her volleyball career. After graduating Mt. Pulaski High School in 2015, Nichols accepted an athletic scholarship from Illinois Central College to focus on volleyball, along with academics.

Throughout Nichols first two years of JUCO, she found growth throughout the game of volleyball. After completing her Associate Degree in Graphic Design and Computer Arts, Nichols then transferred to Greenville University where she continued both her athletic and academic career. While playing for Greenville, Nichols became a key component on the floor for the Panthers. Nichols helped GU to back-to-back winning seasons, along with three SLIAC Championships, one Regular Season and two Conference Tourney Championships. Nichols also helped GUVB qualify for both the 2017 and 2018 NCAA DIII Volleyball Tournament.

Nichols received her Bachelor’s in Science with an emphasis in Digital Media from GU in May of 2019. Nichols will be pursuing her Master’s Degree in Sports Management at the University of Dubuque.
