University of Dubuque

Kevin Kessel will be joining UD in the 2025 season as a graduate assistant while pursuing his Master’s in Management - Sport Management degree. He completed his undergraduate degree in electro-mechanical engineering from Loras College.

Kessel was a student-athlete at Loras as a member of the men's volleyball program for four seasons. He played as a serving sub and libero. Kessel was an Academic All-Conference selection all four years at Loras. He is currently ninth in digs (253) in program history, and competed in Italy with Beyond Sports Tours in the Summer of 2023. 

Kessel is a native of Twin Lakes, Wis. and attended Wilmot Union High School where he was a libero and outside hitter. In high school he was a four-time varsity athlete, two time first team All-Conference selection, and All-State Honorable Mention at the outside hitter position his senior year. Kessel also played at Southport Volleyball Club from 2015 to 2019. He is the son of Daniel Kessel and Jennifer Dimzoff and second oldest of four.
